Dilate Plus sterile eye drops is a combination of Tropicamide and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride. Tropicamide is an anticholinergic agent which paralyses the sphincter muscle of the iris resulting in pupillary dilatation. The ciliary muscle is also paralyzed leading to loss of accommodation. Phenylephrine Hydrochloride is an alpha receptor sympathetic agonist used in local ocular disorder because of its vasoconstrictor and mydriatic action without cycloplegia.
